Government Allocates RM83 Million for Melaka Stage Bus Program

The government has allocated RM83.76 million for Melaka’s stage bus program, announced Transport Minister Anthony Loke. This five-year contract with a private operator ensures continuous public service. Fifty-one buses will operate daily across various routes, covering four local authority areas. Loke emphasized the importance of this subsidy in alleviating transportation costs.

Speaking at the BAS.MY Melaka Stage Bus Transformation Programme launch, he highlighted its necessity, especially for senior citizens and students. The program offers a RM50 Unlimited Travel Pass for Malaysians, valid for 30 days, and free fares for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and school students through the BAS.MY Concession Pass.
