A 58-year-old man in Kampar has been detained by police following a violent knife attack on his own family members at a double-story terrace house in Taman Bandar Baru. During the incident, which occurred at approximately 8:30 PM on Sunday night, the suspect allegedly stabbed his 22-year-old son three times in the neck and inflicted a similar wound on his 56-year-old sister.
Hallucinating Father
Kampar District Police Chief Superintendent Mohamad Nazri Daud stated that preliminary investigations suggest the suspect was suffering from hallucinations at the time of the assault. The man reportedly has a history of receiving periodic medical treatment at Hospital Fatimah in Ipoh. Both victims were rushed to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for emergency treatment, while the suspect was referred to Hospital Tanjung Rambutan for psychiatric evaluation. The case is currently being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt with a weapon.
