Former Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin has claimed that a faction within the party is seeking closer ties with Pakatan Harapan (PH). He alleged the group comprises individuals who were previously with PKR, though he did not name anyone specifically.

Hamzah questioned whether disciplinary action would be taken against those openly expressing support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, noting he was expelled for meeting Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Hamzah was sacked last month amid a leadership tussle with Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, with the disciplinary board citing violations of party rules.
