Malaysia’s Health DG Noor Hisham Abdullah says both Sinovac and Pfizer are effective in urging people not to downplay the efficacy of the Chinese vaccine.

“Sinovac was found to reduce Covid-19 infection by 65.9%, reduce hospitalisation by 87.5%, reduce ICU admission by 90.3% and reduce deaths by 86.3%,” he says.

He commented in a Facebook post saying on July 7, a New England Journal of Medicine report on the Sinovac experience in Chile shows how efficient was Sinovac.

From February to May on 4.2 million fully vaccinated individuals were compared to 5.5 million not vaccinated in Chile.

“Sinovac was found to reduce Covid-19 infection by 65.9%, reduce hospitalisation by 87.5%, reduce ICU admission by 90.3% and reduce deaths by 86.3%,” he says.
