Malaysia’s Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad revealed that 35 tuberculosis (TB) clusters remain active nationwide, with several active clusters reported as of early February 2026, including new ones this year. This update was given in Parliament as the minister outlined ongoing efforts to monitor and contain the spread of the disease.

Dr Dzulkefly said TB clusters detected in 2025 were most prevalent in states including Selangor, Kelantan, Kedah and Sarawak, and that recent cases this year emphasise the need for vigilant public health measures and awareness.
He added that the health ministry is strengthening TB screening and preventive programmes, and urged Malaysians to seek medical help if symptomatic, as part of broader efforts to curb latent and active transmissions.
