Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing urged Mahkota’s Chinese voters to cast their ballots wisely in the upcoming by-election, warning that abstaining could support views promoted by PAS. Speaking at a cultural event, Tiong joked that failing to vote could result in restrictions like losing the right to wear shorts or miniskirts. He emphasized the need to protect Chinese community values and reject what he called extreme, race-based views of Perikatan Nasional. Tiong also dismissed concerns that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was neglecting Chinese interests, urging voters to ensure a decisive victory for BN.
