In Kota Bharu, a housewife, Aniza Shakiera Ahmad, 36, was fined RM2,000 by the Magistrate’s Court after pleading guilty to soliciting prostitution. The incident occurred during a special operation, Op Noda, conducted by police on November 16 at a guesthouse in Kubang Kerian. An undercover officer posed as a customer after the woman allegedly offered sexual services via WhatsApp for RM150 per session. Prosecutor Mazlinda Mohd Nor requested a fitting penalty, while defense lawyer Ariyani Mohd Amin sought leniency, citing Aniza’s remorse and her responsibility for seven children. The court imposed the fine, with three months’ imprisonment in default.
