Inflation is like a person getting a fever. It goes up when things are bad. Bad weather, bad oil prices (international market) and strong demand for food in Malaysia has gotten prices to shoot up.
Especially, there is a notable increase in vegetable prices (and eggs prices) in Malaysia.
For the past weeks, cauliflower prices have shot up by more than 100 per cent – from RM7 (S$2.30) to RM16 per kg – while cai xin, a Malaysian staple, has increased from RM3 to RM9 per kg.
