An immigration officer of Grade 19 has been discovered to possess four luxury vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom valued at around RM6 million, suspected to be acquired through illicit activities involving misuse of authority at the country’s main entry point.
Immigration officer ARRESTED
The revelation came to light after an investigation conducted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) following the arrest of 28 immigration officers and officials in Selangor and Johor. Initial findings indicate that the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Ford Mustang, Range Rover, and Audi were registered under the names of four agents.
Two of whom are Chinese nationals serving as agents for Chinese foreign workers in the country. Surprisingly, these vehicles were being kept by a local agent. The MACC has made a total of 50 arrests, seizing significant amounts of cash, luxury vehicles, and motorcycles. The case is being investigated under relevant legislation, and further arrests are anticipated.
