Loke: 2.4 Million Inactive Driving Licences Ineligible for RON95 Subsidy

1 min read

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that 2.4 million competent driving licence (CDL) holders with expired licences exceeding three years are automatically disqualified from receiving the RON95 fuel subsidy. He explained this follows provisions under the Road Transport Act, stressing that licences inactive for more than three years require retaking Part II and III driving tests. Loke urged motorists with licences expired under three years to renew promptly. Since the subsidy announcement on Sept 22, the Road Transport Department (RTD) has recorded nearly 27,000 CDL renewals through MyJPJ, kiosks, MySikap and counters nationwide.
