Included Health has launched an AI‑powered personal health assistant that positions the startup directly against Big Tech’s growing push into healthcare. The tool, built on patients’ medical claims, benefits data and clinical history, aims to deliver precise, context‑rich answers — something CEO Owen Tripp says generic LLMs like ChatGPT cannot provide.

Included Health’s New AI

The assistant, called Dot, has been tested for 18 months and now serves as the company’s main entry point for members, helping with benefits, visit preparation and care navigation. While Big Tech explores similar tools, Tripp argues that real patient care requires secure data and licensed clinicians. Included, now profitable, is eyeing acquisitions as IPO conditions remain volatile.
