The iPhone 16 Series has been available in Malaysia since 20 September but faces a ban in Indonesia. The Indonesian Government has blocked the series from entering the market, citing Apple’s failure to meet investment commitments and renew its local content certification (TKDN).

Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that Apple’s investment realisation fell short, and its TKDN certification expired. Indonesians importing the iPhone 16 Series must declare the devices and pay taxes to use local networks.
