It seems that Apple has been a rather honest company lately as they’re not taking in massive profit margins for their products. Unlike the luxury fashion sector, it is alleged that their markups are significantly higher. The older iPhone models used to cost around RM600 to produce, but they were sold at RM2,199 over 10 years ago.

Soya Cincau did a detailed breakdown on the specificity of the costs. They add that the phone cost 30% more to produce than the Google Pixel 9 Pro. It is said the most expensive component in the phone is its new processor.
