KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his former political secretary, Datuk Mohammad Anuar Mohd Yunus, will not contest the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) bid to forfeit over RM169mil seized in cash. MACC prosecutor Mahadi Abdul Jumaat told the Sessions Court that both parties confirmed their stance in an Aug 28 letter. Judge Suzana Hussin allowed the prosecution’s request to gazette a third-party notice and fixed Oct 1 for mention. If no claims are made, the cash—including foreign currencies seized from Mohammad Anuar—will be forfeited to the government. –
