Currently UK-based, Chai refutes claims he evaded authorities, asserting he only received informal WhatsApp messages from cryptic usernames like “~Radio” after a public search notice sparked media frenzy.

The probe centers on a RM1.1 billion government deal with chipmaker Arm Holdings. While MACC demands Chai’s immediate return, alleging he previously blocked investigators, Chai maintains his readiness to cooperate professionally.
