New: June Wei reaches Kaohsiung Masters men’s singles FINAL

KAOHSIUNG: Independent Malaysian shuttler June Wei is on target for back-to-back titles after reaching the Kaohsiung Masters men’s singles final in Taiwan on Saturday. June Wei defeated Taiwan’s Cheng Kai 21-12, 21-17 in the semi-finals, setting up a final match against either Chia Hao Lee or Wang Tzu Wei on Sunday.

Last week, June Wei won the Lin Dan Cup, earning RM131,000 by defeating China’s Ren Chengming 21-10, 21-14 in the final. The Lin Dan Cup, organized by the badminton legend, saw intense competition from June 15-16, with Zhou Xinyu from China securing third place. The tournament is a part of the BWF World Tour tournaments and is leveled in BWF Tour Super 100. The inaugural edition held in 2023.
