KLIA to Undergo Major Landscaping Upgrade to Welcome Global Tourists

The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has approved RM3 million to enhance the green landscape around KLIA in preparation for Visit Malaysia 2026. Managed by the National Landscape Department (JLN), the project will beautify Terminals 1 and 2, including arrival and departure areas and major roads.

Minister Nga Kor Ming said the initiative showcases Malaysia’s commitment to sustainability and multiculturalism, featuring vertical gardens and multilingual signage. Set for completion by December 2024, the upgrade reflects KLIA’s role as Malaysia’s primary gateway. The “Harmony in Diversity” theme blends culture, architecture, and nature to enhance traveller comfort and national image.
