Korea Open: Tan, Thinaah beat world no 2 pair to reach finals

Malaysian women’s badminton doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah secured their place in the 2024 Korea Open finals with a stunning victory over top seeds Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee. The Malaysians dominated the semi-final, winning 21-18, 21-13 in just 42 minutes at the Mokpo Indoor Stadium in Seoul. They will face South Korea’s Jeong Na-eun and Kim Hye-jeong in the final, aiming for their first Super 500 title this season. In the mixed doubles, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei also advanced to the finals after defeating China’s Cheng Xing and Zhang Chi 22-20, 21-19.
