BUTTERWORTH, June 5 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has taken delivery of two of 10 new Electric Train Service (ETS) sets, valued at RM400 million, with operations set to begin in 2026. General Manager Nurul Azha Mokmin announced the trains are undergoing testing to boost ETS quality and capacity amid a 10% annual passenger growth. The new sets will serve the Gemas-Johor Bahru route, with future extensions to Butterworth and Padang Besar. Over 250,000 ETS and Intercity tickets, including Aidiladha specials, sold since May 29. Nurul Azha spoke after launching the Ruby Lounge for ETS Business Class at Butterworth Station.
