A 39‑year‑old woman was tragically killed after being stabbed 13 times at her home in Taman Tiram, Kulim Hi‑Tech, Kedah, on 14 September.
Kulim District Police Chief Syamsul Sinring confirmed that the victim’s husband, aged 43, later surrendered himself at the Lunas Police Station, admitting to the attack and handing over the folding knife believed to have been used.
Kulim Tragedy: Husband Surrenders After Fatal Stabbing
Preliminary investigations revealed the incident stemmed from jealousy and marital problems. After the stabbing, the suspect showered, collected their three‑year‑old child from a babysitter, and handed the child to his sister at Juru R&R in Penang, where he confessed to stabbing his wife.
The victim was rushed to Kulim Hospital by family members but was pronounced dead at 9:30 PM.
Police found bloodstains across the master bedroom and collected 11 forensic samples. The suspect tested negative for drugs and had no prior criminal record.
He admitted to stabbing his wife seven times in the chest, five times in the abdomen, and once on the rib.
The victim’s body was sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar for post‑mortem. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty upon conviction.
