PUTRAJAYA, Sept 29 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke has reiterated the critical importance of child safety seats following public backlash over his remarks on the recent fatal accident at the Bukit Kajang toll plaza. The tragedy claimed the life of a 12-month-old boy who was ejected from the vehicle during the collision.

Citing preliminary police findings, Loke noted that the child was not secured in a car seat and stressed that proper use might have prevented the tragedy. His comments, however, sparked criticism on social media, with some accusing him of being insensitive. Addressing the issue at a press conference today, Loke acknowledged the criticisms but underscored that advocating for children’s safety is his foremost responsibility as minister.
