Lorry Accidents More Likely to Result in Fatalities

Road accidents involving lorries are more likely to result in fatalities. From January 2019 to November 2024, 3,500 lorry accidents caused 1,457 deaths. Common offences include driving without a valid license and overloading.

The Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research found that heavy goods vehicles are involved in more fatal accidents. The government issues bans on lorries during festive seasons to reduce accidents.
