Death Sentence commute
Low’s lawyer argued for a shorter term due to his time served and unanswered clemency requests. However, the prosecution emphasized the brutality of Herzog’s murder, urging the retention of the death penalty. Herzog, a German-born Australian, was killed during a home invasion in Subang Jaya in 2003. Police reportedly found a parang, a long-bladed knife similar to a machete, on a window sill in a room at the time of the murder.
