It appears that luxury shoppers are taking note of the major price jumps when it comes to designer handbags and shoes. In the previous decades, the handbag and the shoes are a mere accessory that is not particularly important to one’s outfit. The outfit ensemble itself was the main goal.
Luxury branded handbags in decline?
A popular YouTuber, JessieStyle states that there are at least 4 reasons for someone to avoid buying luxury designer items. One of them being the price. The prices have jumped up so far to the point that a few years ago, you’d be able to buy a bag, shoes and an outfit for the price of one bag today.
Another popular YouTuber, SuperDacob, mentioned a department store client advisor claiming that today’s luxury shoppers are primarily buying shoes or bags. In the meantime, they’re merely wearing Zara or H&M clothing.
Forbes warned that a potential “riceshession” is coming soon, where wealthier individuals will have lesser disposable income to spare for these brands. In addition to this, skyrocketing prices coupled with a worsening economy isn’t going to help these brands at all.
