Raids were conducted at 19 locations in Penang, Selangor, Kedah, Johor, and Negeri Sembilan, with support from Customs, LHDN, and Bank Negara. A luxury bungalow and scrap processing sites were among those searched.

Syndicates allegedly misdeclared exports to avoid a 15% export tax. MACC is investigating under anti-money laundering laws and is tracking down those involved, including public servants suspected of protecting the illegal trade.
