The ultra-wealthy group, known as T15, consists of individuals with household incomes exceeding RM13,000 and is set to lose the RON95 fuel subsidy, which will have minimal financial impact. On average, they spend RM500 monthly on RON95, just 3.8% of their income. Even without the subsidy, their expenses would rise to RM700 to RM800, only 5.3% of their earnings. Estimated at nearly one million people, many are financially secure due to family wealth and do not rely on government aid. The recent budget announcement indicates that they will now be taxed on previously untaxed income, like dividends, contributing fairly to the economy.
