New: Malaysia Grounds F/A-18D Hornets After Kuantan Crash, Defence Readiness Intact

1 min read

KUALA LUMPUR – The Royal Malaysian Air Force’s (RMAF) F/A-18D Hornet fighter jet crashed while taking off from Kuantan Air Base on Thursday night, likely due to an engine malfunction. Both crew members ejected safely before the jet exploded and was destroyed. Armed Forces Chief, General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar, said early analysis points to technical issues rather than human error. All Hornet operations have been suspended as a precaution while investigations continue. He assured national defence remains unaffected, with Malaysia’s air, land, and naval forces maintaining full operational readiness.
