Malaysia’s halal exports surged to RM61.79 billion in 2024, marking a 15% rise from RM53.72 billion in 2023. Investment, Trade, and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz emphasized Malaysia’s decade-long leadership in the Global Islamic Economy Indicator rankings. 

Malaysia’s Halal Exports Surge to RM61.79 Billion in 2024

The halal sector is expected to contribute RM231 billion to GDP by 2030, driven by food, finance, and travel industries. Mihas 2025, themed “Pinnacle of Halal Excellence,” aims to expand Malaysia’s global halal footprint with increased international participation. 

As demand for halal products is projected to reach US$5 trillion, Malaysia continues to position itself as a key driver of economic growth and innovation.
