A columnist in a Saudi newspaper says Anwar Ibrahim as PM10 has many plans for Malaysia, a country with many problems, including being a corrupt society.
While he gives a red card to Malaysia for its corruption status – Malaysian ranked number 62 in the international corruption index – he also says Prime Ministers have an ‘imperial’ taste for wealth and luxury.

“It is a corrupt society where the rule of law is an inconsistent principle. For years, the country was run by a succession of prime ministers whose Byzantine sense of politics was accompanied by an almost imperial taste for wealth and luxury,” he says.
The writer is Dr Azeem Ibrahim, director of special initiatives at the Newlines Institute for Strategy and Policy in Washington D.C.
