Malaysia informs 29,000 are in Middle East conflict zone, consulates assist on hotel stays

The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that around 29,000 Malaysians are currently in Middle East conflict-affected countries, urging them to avoid non-essential travel and coordinating hotel stay assistance for those impacted. 

Malaysia tracks 29,000 citizens in Middle East amid conflict, assists with stay arrangements

Missions in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other nations are in contact with nationals and helping negotiate extended stays amid flight disruptions, while confirming most registered Malaysians are safe. 

The foreign ministry is encouraging unregistered Malaysians abroad to do so via the e-Konsular system as it continues monitoring regional developments.
