The Ministry of Health (MoH) dismissed the return of strict lockdowns, like the movement control order (MCO), despite a 62.2% rise in Covid-19 cases. Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad announced a reimplementation of the Test, Report, Isolate, Inform, Seek (TRIIS) strategy to curb outbreaks.
Malaysia strengthens TRIIS strategy
Malaysia faces a sudden surge in cases, but Dzulkefly assured control, emphasizing readiness and continuous monitoring. MoH fortified its Covid-19 plan through early detection, community empowerment via TRIIS, health facility supervision, high-risk group protection, effective communication, and digital health solutions.
Public advice emphasized avoiding crowded places, wearing masks, and vaccine booster shots, urging access to antiviral treatment for high-risk cases via designated health centers.
