KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 — Malaysia has climbed to third place among ASEAN nations in the 2025 Corruption Perception Index (CPI), trailing Singapore and Brunei. Transparency International Malaysia reported Malaysia scored 52 out of 100, a two‑point improvement from previous years, placing the country 54th globally.
THIRD least corrupt
President Raymon Ram credited reforms including the Finance and Fiscal Responsibility Act, Audit Act amendments, and the national anti-corruption strategy 2024‑2028. However, he cautioned that procurement transparency, whistleblower protection, and political financing remain weak points. TI Malaysia urged the government to accelerate reforms to achieve its goal of a top 25 global CPI ranking by 2033.
