Malaysia urges WHO to help stop vaccine discrimination

1 min read

Malaysia urges the World Health Organization (WHO) to intervene against discrimination in international travel against certain vaccine brands.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says there were countries stipulating that only individuals receiving certain vaccines were given an exemption to perform Covid-19 detection tests and quarantine aspects.

Expressing his disappointment, he stresses that this should not happen because the prevention of virus transmission is not determined by the type of vaccination but the control of a country’s public health system.
