Malaysian Climbers Trapped on Mount Denali Await Rescue

KUALA LUMPUR: One of three Malaysian climbers who successfully scaled Mount Denali, Alaska, was rescued after being trapped by bad weather while descending on Tuesday. Muhammad Illaham Ishak, 47, is now in the hospital, while Zainudin Lot, 47, and Zulkifli Yusuf, 37, await rescue at about 5,990 meters.

Malaysian Climbers Trapped

An emergency call was made using satellite communication after one climber had difficulty walking. Muhammad Illaham descended alone to Camp Five for help, leaving the other two in a snow cave. Rescuers are ready but are waiting for suitable weather to fly. The climbers are stable but may have frostbite and hypothermia.
