The ruling of banning tents on the shores of Port Dickson is highly controversial among social media users. Some agree while many are vehemently against it. X users state the tents are helpful to Muslim women who refuse to remove their hijab while they’re at the beach. 

Malaysians angry at Port Dickson ban on tents

An X user adds that there are more useful things that a tent could do other than promoting sinful acts. They say that mothers breastfeeding their children could use the confined spaces of a tent as the public won’t be able to see them. 

Others claim that imagination is running wild as some authorities believe that these small confined spaces for privacy can only lead to illicit activities.
