Malaysian content creator Rajeswary Appahu, known as Esha, tragically took her own life after facing severe cyberbullying on TikTok. Esha had blown the whistle on a potentially harmful cosmetic product, which she reported to the Ministry of Health (KKM).

The product, initially advertised as French and Swedish, was later banned due to mercury content. Malaysians expressed sympathy for Esha’s efforts to raise awareness about unsafe products. Some speculate that the bullying stemmed from her campaign against the mercury-laden cosmetic, though this remains unconfirmed by authorities.
