Malaysians Now UPSET The 1975 Band For Matt Healy’s Disrespectful Behavior And LGBTQ Rant

1 min read

The English Pop Rock band, the 1975, stirred a lot of drama yesterday at the Good Vibes festival. Apparently, Matt Healy, a band member made bold statements against the country for our lack of LGBTQ rights, and he kissed another man infront of stage for everyone to see. The performance was quickly cut short afterwards.

Malaysians upset at the 1975 for their disrespectful behavior

Netizens are expressing their disappointment towards 1975. They state that the band has caused ruckus all over the world. They are also banned in the UAE, and allegedly Matt Healy also stepped on the Korean flag. The flag stepping incident happened in 2019 and he deleted his Instagram post without an apology.

Furthermore, netizens state that now thanks to the 1975, we might not have a prominent band coming to Malaysia anytime soon. Others state that sending a message is fine, but their methods should’ve been more respectful and proper. Getting drunk on stage and causing a scene is not the way in Asian cultures.
