The Malaysian government is nearing completion of a National Cost-of-Living Action Plan, slated for launch in the second quarter of 2026, aiming to coordinate and strengthen measures across ministries to better address rising day-to-day expenses for households.
Malaysia to launch National Cost-of-Living Action Plan to tackle price pressures
The plan — part of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) — will focus on key cost drivers such as food, health, education, housing and utilities, with clusters led by respective ministries under the National Action Council for Cost of Living (NACCOL).
Officials said the approach will enhance planning, implementation and monitoring of interventions, aiming to curb inflationary pressure while protecting both consumers and small businesses.
