A male student passed away after being hit and dragged by a car on Taman Jati Road near SMK Jati in Meru, Ipoh on Friday in an incident that occurred around 12:30 pm as the victim, Muhammad Zaharif Affendi Muhd Zamrie, 17, a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidate, was riding his motorcycle home from school.

Male Student Expires
Reports say before the incident, an altercation between the car driver and the victim, who was making noise on his motorcycle, reportedly took place. This led the 44-year-old driver, believed to be a police officer, to chase the suspect for nearly a kilometer during which the collision occurred.
