“Out of sympathy, my son lent RM300, meant for his child’s milk, to a friend. When he tried to collect the debt, he was beaten until his skull was fractured,” said Norhayati A Razak, 53.
Her son, Mohd Ahzan Husni, 35, was attacked by a group of men after demanding repayment. The incident occurred on July 15 on Jalan Cendana, Kampung Setanggi. Despite her advice against lending the money, Mohd Ahzan trusted his friend.

The family heard Mohd Ahzan’s cries and saw six men, including masked individuals, beating him. They tried to intervene but were also beaten. Mohd Ahzan was hospitalised, requiring multiple surgeries.
The family now faces financial difficulties caring for him and his children. Police have arrested the suspects.
