Man Denies Selling Pornography On Twitter

1 min read

Twitter unfortunately, other than being known as a social media tool that can help spread the word of an individual for thousands to see, is also used for elicit videos to be shared around. One man, Mohammad Hafizzul Anas Kamaruzaman, 30 was accused of selling pornographic materials under his Twitter handle @lelakilelakise1.

Pornographic materials appearing on Twitter is not a new thing, however it was escalated ever since Tumblr removed explicit content a few years ago. The integrity of selling a person’s indecent act on camera is not something to be taken lightly especially if done on a public platform like Twitter where innocent children could be exposed to such content.

It was said that the man was charged under Section 233(2)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which includes a maximum fine of RM50,000 or imprisonment for up to a year. Worst case scenario would be both, if found guilty, and shall also be liable to a further fine of RM1,000 for every day during which the offence is continued after conviction. This happened on 14th June 2022, and there are no further updates up till now.
