A 24-year-old man pleaded guilty to mistreating his niece by forcing her to drink ketum juice and recording the incident. The electrical wiring worker was fined RM10,000 by Judge Osman Affendi Mohd Shalleh at the Sessions Court.

The incident occurred on November 2 in Rengit, and the man was arrested on November 4 after the video went viral. He was also given a two-year good behaviour bond, a RM2,000 surety, and ordered to complete 120 hours of community service.
The case was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Sharifah Natasha Syed Ahmad.
