Man smashes 12 ATM screens launching manhunt to catch him

KUALA LUMPUR — Police have launched a manhunt for a suspect believed to be responsible for a series of vandalism attacks on automated teller machines (ATMs) at several bank branches in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur. Losses are estimated at RM64,000 (S$20,670).

Sentul police chief ACP Basri Sagoni said the first case was reported on Feb. 16, when four ATM screens were found cracked during routine maintenance. Subsequent reports involved Maybank, RHB Bank, and Public Bank branches, with CCTV footage capturing the suspect. Investigators confirmed the acts were deliberate vandalism, with no signs of robbery or theft.
