Singer and actor Mark Adam faced criticism recently for selling satay sets at what many deemed unreasonable prices at a food festival. A viral video by a food influencer showed Mark explaining that each ‘Satay Bhalut’ set, consisting of three skewers and a drink, was priced between RM19.90 and RM24.90.

Netizens criticized the prices as exorbitant, especially given that many attendees were from the B40 income group. In response, Mark clarified the costs behind his business, including the use of premium meat sourced from renowned suppliers often used in hotels and by celebrity chefs. He admitted criticism no longer fazes him but shared concerns about its impact on his employees’ morale. We feel the actor should just keep selling his satay at the price he feels is right!
