TORONTO, Oct 31, 2026 — A wealthy Canadian family was left seriously injured after three masked men armed with firearms and a hammer stormed their home in Toronto’s upscale Bridle Path neighbourhood early Thursday morning.
According to Toronto Police Service, the suspects forced their way into the residence through a rear entrance at about 3.40am before confronting the occupants and demanding valuables.
An altercation broke out inside the home, resulting in 75-year-old businessman Morton and his two daughters, Maggie and Cristina Zohil-Morton, being shot. Morton’s wife, Doriana Zohil, 64, and the businessman were also reportedly struck with a hammer during the attack.

The suspects fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV before officers arrived. Authorities have not confirmed whether any belongings were stolen during the incident.
Police on Friday described the suspects as armed and dangerous. One was identified as a thinly built Black male, approximately 20 years old. The other two suspects, also believed to be around 20, were also described as having slim builds. All three were dressed in dark clothing and wore face masks.
