Former MasterChef Malaysia finalist Etiqah Siti Norashikeen Mohd Sulong and her ex-husband Mohammad Ambree Yunos have been sentenced to 34 years in prison for the murder of their domestic helper, Nur Afiyah Daeng Damin.

The Kota Kinabalu High Court also ordered 12 strokes of the cane for Ambree, while Etiqah was exempted due to her gender. The court found the victim had endured prolonged torture before her death in December 2021.
Prosecutors presented video evidence from the accused’s phones, proving deliberate abuse. The judge called the crime a cruel and intentional act, not one driven by sudden provocation or anger.
