Internet regulator MCMC issued a stern warning this morning against any exploitation of the controversy surrounding a design element found on the sole of a footwear brand, which allegedly resembled the word Allah. MCMC ssys it will not hesitate to take action under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 against anyone who violates the law.

MCMC Warns
Those who find such infractions online, such as on social media platforms, should report it to authorities, including the police, the commission said in a statement. “MCMC will not hesitate to take action under the act if any party is found trying to exploit this issue or making comments that can spark racial tension. The public is reminded not to upload, share, or distribute social media contents that touch on the sensitivity of the 3R (race, religion, and royalty) and instead report them to the police and MCMC via https://aduan.mcmc.gov.my,” says the MCMC.
