BENTONG: Police have dismantled a drug trafficking syndicate with the arrest of a man and the seizure of over 21 kg of suspected syabu (methamphetamine), valued at RM697,717, at the Genting Sempah Rest and Service Area (RSA) on Thursday.

Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the operation, conducted at about 12.20 pm, apprehended a 34-year-old suspect who worked as a mechanic and sold vehicle spare parts. During the inspection of the suspect’s Honda Jazz, officers found 20 transparent plastic packets of suspected syabu concealed in a black bag in the rear passenger seat.
