WASHINGTON, Oct 11 — Stephen Miller, a senior aide to former U.S. president Donald Trump, is under fire for advocating near-absolute presidential powers, echoing the controversial Project 2025 agenda.
Miller recently claimed Trump held “plenary authority,” contradicting constitutional limits on executive power. He has also labelled Democratic leaders “domestic extremists” and accused judges of waging a “judicial coup.”

Critics warn Miller’s rhetoric aligns with Project 2025’s aim to erode checks and balances and centralise authority in the presidency.
Amanda Carpenter of Protect Democracy said Miller is “saying out loud” what Project 2025 seeks to achieve — consolidating control over the U.S. government and entrenching power for the long term.
