The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of strong winds and rough seas from December 29 to 31, affecting the waters off East Johor, Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan. Northeasterly winds of 40-50 km/h with waves up to 3.5 meters are expected, posing risks to small boats, sea recreation, and water sports.

Sea levels are also predicted to rise, with a risk of coastal flooding. In the waters off Condore and Reef North, winds exceeding 60 km/h with waves over 4.5 meters are expected, endangering all coastal activities and shipping operations. A second-category warning is issued for other areas with winds up to 60 km/h and waves reaching 4.5 meters.
